Alecia Pradolini
Alecia Pradolini, a Belgian artist working in Dakar since 2014. Born in Flanders in 1988 to an Italian father and a Basque-Russian-German mother. This kaleidoscope of cultures has made Alecia a nomad imbued with fragments.
She studied photography at SISA in Antwerp, then at Sint Lukas in Brussels, and completed her Master's degree at the Antwerp Academy. After an internship and an exhibition in Thailand, she was invited to exhibit at the 2012 Dakar OFF Biennale, where she discovered the pottery workshop at the Village des Arts. She was fascinated by clay. In 2016, she returned for the OFF Biennale and met ceramic artist Boubou Ndiaye. This marked the beginning of a partnership with works that balance each other and convey the mutual strength of the collective.
Since then, Alecia has participated in several Dakar OFF Biennales and in Belgium she participated in Re-Art I (2013) and Re-Art II (2017). More recently, she has had two solo exhibitions: at Geevaertsdreef (2018) and at “Édition populaire” in Flanders (March-July 2025) and “Onder het melkwoud” in Ninove (October 2025).
Her latest exhibition, “Entre Terre et Ciel” (Between Earth and Sky), was at Ikonik Dakar (June 2025) and captures memories that are sometimes fleeting, sometimes lasting. The earth that absorbs history and tells its story. The earth that shapes Alecia's dreams, which she freezes in clay in the form of landscapes, forests, journeys, the sea, transhumance, birds, and the sky.
Alecia is a complete artist who lives for her art.
