Daouda Hann
Born in Dakar in 1979, visual artist and sculptor Daouda Hann lives and works in Ziguinchor, in southern Senegal. A self-taught artist, his practice is deeply rooted in his immediate environment, which he explores through the reuse of reclaimed materials to which he gives new meaning and life.
Emerging from contexts that are often underrepresented within institutional art spaces, Daouda Hann’s work engages closely with social realities and everyday human experiences. Ordinary life, peripheral territories, and modest materials form the foundation of his artistic language.
Since 2002, he has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions, as well as educational workshops for children and adults in Senegal and internationally.
His works are now widely appreciated and sought after by collectors and connoisseurs of contemporary art.
