Macarena Durán Pérez (Madrid, 1982) is a visual artist and designer. She began her academic training studying Biology before redirecting her path toward the creative field, first developing her career as an animation artist and later in interior design. Alongside her professional work, she has consistently maintained an artistic practice connected to painting, illustration, and photography.

Her current work focuses on abstract painting and sculptural creation. She is currently based in Senegal, a place that has profoundly shaped her creative process. The rhythm of daily life, the intensity of color, the beauty of the surroundings, and especially the expressive power of people’s gazes and human connections have a direct influence on her work. These elements are reflected in a freer, more intuitive visual language, where color, gesture, and material convey the energy and vitality of the Senegalese human and cultural landscape.
