Omar Loum

Omar Loum, alias Om'art Design, is a Senegalese visual artist born in 1999 in Rufisque. Currently studying at the National School of Arts in Dakar, he is developing a practice focused on figurative drawing and mixed media. Since childhood, he has nurtured a passion for Since childhood, he has nurtured a passion for pencil drawing, which he now combines with backgrounds made with coffee, spontaneous colored washes, and the use of natural pigments such as turmeric or palm oil.

This exploration of organic materials, combined with a hyperrealistic style, creates a distinct contrast between abstraction and realism, which has become the signature of his style.

Inspired by African cultural diversity and careful observation of his social environment, Om'art offers a metaphorical and empowering approach to African identities, bringing out emotions, memories, and visual narratives rooted in everyday life. He has participated in several group exhibitions in Senegal, including the 12th National Salon of Visual Arts, gradually establishing his presence on the local contemporary art scene.
