Daniel Séverin Ngassu

Daniel Séverin Ngassu (born January 17, 1977 in Yaoundé, Cameroon) is a graphic artist and painter based in Dakar. A graduate of the Beaux-Arts of Dakar (2005), he develops a visual language that moves between painting, graphic design, and narrative imagery.

Rooted in everyday life, his work captures scenes of human interaction and urban realities across Africa, with a strong sense of movement, atmosphere, and storytelling. His compositions invite the viewer into intimate yet universal moments, where gesture and space carry memory and meaning.

Naturalized as a Senegalese citizen in 2019, married and father of two, Ngassu embodies a trans-African artistic identity shaped by both Central and West Africa. His practice reflects this duality, offering a nuanced perspective on contemporary African life.

Active on the Dakar art scene, Daniel Séverin Ngassu has taken part in several exhibitions and artistic projects. Through his work, he seeks to create images that resonate emotionally while opening conversations about society, belonging, and shared experience.
