Kheraba Traore
Mahamadou Khéraba Traoré, born on June 6, 1987, in Vélingara in the Kolda region (SENEGAL), is a visual artist, videographer, and professor of animated film at the National School of Arts in Dakar. Khéraba, as he is affectionately known, has established himself as a talented artist in the Senegalese art scene.
His simple and refined working method hides an innate multifaceted imagination, stemming from a family of multidisciplinary artists. His personal approach and the main subject of his works is the daily life of children in general; these little beings are his source of inspiration.
His passion for children is evident in the vast majority of his works, which focus on the fight against child exploitation and the promotion of children's rights. Curious and active, he is interested in everything. He discovered his attraction to drawing, shapes, and colors at a very young age.
Over time, he discovered a fascinating world that confirmed his ambitions. His technique developed intuitively. Winner of the 2021 World Food Programme Grand Prize. He has participated in several solo and group exhibitions, both nationally and internationally.
